Organized and effective, Blake is a tenacious litigator with broad experience in commercial litigation, insurance litigation, construction litigation, employment law, and administrative tribunal practice.
Blake’s litigation experience extends to construction litigation, business and shareholder disputes, industrial accidents, fire losses, professional liability matters, coverage opinions, directors’ and officers’ liability claims, catastrophic bodily injury claims, and inter-provincial coverage issues.
Blake’s employment law practice includes representing employers in matters involving wrongful dismissal litigation, human rights complaints, workers compensation claims, fiduciary litigation, employment standards claims, and disputes involving the enforcement of restrictive covenants. He also assists employers with employee discipline and termination, managing employee disability, conducting workplace investigations, and drafting employment contracts and policies.
Blake has worked on the full spectrum of debt recovery including secured claims, priority claims, and reciprocal judgment enforcement, including recovery in the context of insolvency proceedings.
Blake makes a point of staying on the leading edge of developments in the law, business environment, and technological advances in litigation practice.
Blake has acted as counsel in matters before all levels of Court in Alberta, the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court and numerous administrative tribunals.
