When clients come to Kevin with complicated legal problems, he readily rolls up his sleeves and joins them in the fray. With a perceptive, nuanced approach, he addresses the legal matter at hand while factoring in his client’s long-term goals.

Kevin’s practice focuses primarily on litigation and insurance and risk management. Leveraging his experience as in-house counsel with a national insurer, he provides ongoing risk analysis to insurance claims personnel and insured persons in a variety of personal injury, professional negligence, and commercial/general liability claims, as well as contract/coverage disputes. He has considerable experience advising and representing clients with regards to motor vehicle accidents, subrogated loss recovery, sexual battery, large fire loss, construction claims, surety claims, and property damage claims. With each matter, he prioritizes resolving the claim in a way that is both mutually beneficial and cost-effective.

A skilled and experienced litigator, Kevin has appeared as trial counsel before the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench and the Provincial Court of Alberta (Civil and Criminal Divisions) in various civil and criminal matters. He has represented clients as litigation counsel in numerous commercial, contractual, construction, criminal, surety, and tort matters. He regularly prepares pleadings, affidavits, legal briefs, and other court matters and frequently attends examinations for discovery/questioning on a variety of matters, including personal injury actions, insurance claims, contract disputes, and other tort matters. Drawing upon his negotiation savvy, he also represents clients in private mediations and judicial dispute resolutions on a variety of civil litigation matters.

Kevin asserts that the facts matter in every case. He fastidiously documents all known facts to develop air-tight arguments that leave little room for Plaintiff’s Counsel to dispute. He is exceedingly process driven and always provides his clients a clear and transparent roadmap that includes where they currently stand and their choices for moving the file forward.
