Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, estates and trusts, and real estate, with a particular interest in helping businesses and individuals navigate transactions, growth opportunities, and succession planning matters.
Mia has experience working with small and mid-sized businesses on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. She assists with mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and other transactions, supporting both buyers and sellers in deals ranging from privately held business sales to transactions valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Her experience includes conducting due diligence, preparing, and negotiating transaction documents, coordinating closings, and reviewing regulatory compliance requirements.
In addition to transactional work, Mia supports clients with corporate organization and governance matters, commercial lending transactions, and the drafting and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements. She is also knowledgeable in competition law issues arising from mergers and acquisitions, including Competition Bureau filings and related compliance obligations.
Drawing on firsthand experience working in a multi-generational family business, Mia brings a practical, business-focused perspective to her legal practice. She understands the realities business owners face and is committed to delivering advice that is not only legally sound, but also commercially effective and aligned with clients’ goals.
Outside of law, Mia enjoys finding Edmonton's best coffee, playing volleyball with the Edmonton Sport & Social Club, and travelling.
