Michaela’s practice focuses on a range of civil, commercial and insurance litigation. She has represented clients in personal injury matters (representing both Plaintiff and Insurer) and occupiers liability claims.  Michaela is particularly experienced in motor vehicle accident personal injury matters and in vehicle warranty disputes. She has also defended a number of Insurers facing Section B claims. She has further experience in breach of contract litigation, construction litigation, and collections proceedings. She also regularly advises and represents clients in matters concerning condominium construction litigation.

Michaela’s experience before various courts has prepared her to resolutely defend her clients’ interests when litigation is necessary. She has appeared before the Provincial Court and the Court of King's Bench of Alberta. She has also participated in forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Michaela understands that lawsuits, and litigation in general, can be quite stressful. She aims to alleviate that stress by clearly explaining the process and communicating effectively so clients know the status of their cases and what the next steps are.

An active member of the Edmonton community, Michaela has been involved with the Alberta Diabetes Foundation for a number of years. She is on the volunteer committee responsible for organizing a large annual fundraising gala to raise funds and awareness for Type 1 diabetes, a cause that is meaningful to her. Additionally, Michaela regularly donates her time and legal acumen to Pro Bono Law Alberta and the Civil Claims Duty Counsel.
