Nicole earned her Juris Doctor at the University of Calgary. She previously earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mount Royal University, graduating with Honours. She also holds a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation from the Human Resources Institute of Alberta and an EQ-i Emotional Intelligence certification from Multi-Health Systems.
Nicole worked as a Summer Student at ATB Financial where she collaborated with the in-house legal counsel team, providing support in various areas including agreements and integration with fintech partners, and providing legal review of the digitization of personal banking products. She also worked as a Summer Student at McLennan Ross where she researched and prepared presentations for clients in numerous areas including claim limitation periods, workplace harassment and discrimination training, and varying liability considerations.
Prior to attending law school, Nicole worked in Human Resources for several years. She was responsible for managing complex employee relations issues, advising management, and guiding annual initiatives including performance management, succession and workforce planning, leadership training, and annual compensation planning.
An engaged community member, Nicole has volunteered her time with several organizations including Student Legal Assistance, Dalhousie Student Advocacy Service, Equity Watch, the United Way, the Ronald McDonald House, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Outside of law, Nicole is a competitive runner, competing in half marathons and 10-kilometer races. In addition to running, she remains active road biking, skiing, golfing, and snowboarding. Nicole also enjoys cooking, frequently trying new cuisines and cooking and baking for friends and family.
