Discipline Committee Complaint

| Alberta Land Surveyors' Association

In a hearing before the Discipline Committee Panel of the Alberta Land Surveyors’ Association, a decision was issued in favour of a surveyor. The surveyor faced various allegations of unprofessional conduct from his previous employer that arose because the surveyor created his own surveying company, which was in competition with his previous employer’s company. Pursuant to section 52 of the Land Surveyors Act, the Discipline Committee Panel found that the conduct of the surveyor and his new company constituted neither the unskilled practice of surveying nor unprofessional conduct. Simply put, there was no substance to the allegations, and they were accordingly dismissed.
