Jessica maintains a diverse practice, with an emphasis on labour and employment, as well as, professional liability and commercial litigation. She understands that each matter is unique and strives to find timely and cost-effective solutions, without sacrificing quality. Regardless of the issue at hand, Jessica helps her clients efficiently overcome their legal obstacles.

Jessica has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, arbitration panels, and hearing tribunals including the Alberta College of Pharmacists and the Alberta College of Social Workers.  She has specialized experience dealing with non-competition, human rights and wrongful dismissal issues.

Some highlights of Jessica’s representative experience include:

  • Defending employers in wrongful dismissal claims.
  • Regularly representing employers in complaints filed with Employment Standards and the Human Rights Commission.
  • Drafting employment policies and agreements for employers, including large municipalities.
  • Representing individuals in wrongful dismissal claims.
  • Worked with senior counsel in successfully defending an injunction application in both the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta and the Court of Appeal of Alberta.
  • Worked with senior counsel in successfully obtaining significant wrongful dismissal damages for a terminated employee by way of summary trial at the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta.
  • Assisted senior counsel in obtaining summary judgment in a complex security dispute.
