Jessica Kruhlak

Jessica is an effective, ethical, and reliable advocate. When management needs a straight-forward approach to addressing workplace-related issues, Jessica offers practical and carefully considered guidance to resolve the matter at hand, while providing protective measures for her clients.

Jessica concentrates her practice in labour and employment law, representing individuals and employers in all aspects of the employment relationship, including counseling clients through complex employment matters and litigation. She has experience defending employers in wrongful dismissal claims, representing employers in complaints filed with Employment Standards and the Human Rights Commission, drafting employment policies and agreements for employers, successfully defending an injunction application in both the Court of King's Bench of Alberta and the Court of Appeal of Alberta, and helping to successfully obtain significant wrongful dismissal damages for a terminated employee by way of summary trial.

Jessica has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, arbitration panels, and hearing tribunals including the Alberta College of Pharmacists and the Alberta College of Social Workers.  She also has experience dealing with non-competition, human rights, and wrongful dismissal issues.

Jessica is a clear communicator who works with her clients to ensure they have a thorough understanding of her advice and the process in which they are involved. Clients frequently reach out to Jessica for useful and practical advice for day-to-day operations and issues that arise with their employees (both proactively and in response to employee complaints).
