Marco is a skilled litigator and a careful tactician. He provides competent and cost-effective legal counsel to his clients. 

Marco’s practice areas include civil litigation, insurance and risk management, professional discipline, and employment matters. Marco has experience representing accountants, psychologists, physicians, engineers, insurance brokers, property managers, architects, quantity surveyors, and a wide variety of corporations. He has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, and many administrative tribunals.

A significant portion of Marco’s legal work involves law enforcement matters. He acts for Chiefs, Police Commissions, and Police Officers in relation to Law Enforcement Review Board proceedings, disciplinary hearings, civil claims, criminal matters involving Police Officers, and judicial reviews. Marco routinely provides counsel to Police Services in relation to human rights complaints and discipline. He also provides guidance and recommendations to Chiefs in relation to law enforcement regulatory and legislative requirements and has experience preparing and reviewing Police Services policies and procedures.
 
Marco’s extensive insurance expertise includes advising national and international insurers on risk, both as defence and coverage counsel, in relation to auto, property, products liability, commercial liability, professional liability, and life insurance claims. 
 
Marco also regularly represents employers in all aspects of employment law. He has extensive experience with the preparation, interpretation, and enforcement of employment contracts, terminations, human rights complaints, illness and disability management, and policy development and enforcement.
