Thinking Big Calgary

Thinking Big Calgary is a unique exhibition examining Recollections (McKnight/Westwinds LRT Station) and TransitStory (Centre Street LRT Station), two well-known public artworks comissioned by the City of Calgary's Public Art Program.

What is the story behind some of these public art projects? How do they happen? How are they imagined and built?

With support from McLennan Ross LLP, Open Spaces is presenting a complimentary exhibition, Thinking Big: Unveiling Public Art Projects at the Art Gallery of Calgary. Thinking Big presents sketches, technical drawings, models and photos to explore the creative energy, technical expertise and complex work involved in building art projects. Co-presented by the Public Art Program and the Alberta Craft Council this thought-provoking exhibition opens on September 7, 2012 and runs through to December 27, 2012.
