Damon Bailey and Chris Lane Appointed King's Counsel

Every two years, Alberta lawyers may be recognized for their outstanding contributions to the legal profession or in public life by being appointed as "Her Majesty's Counsel, learned in the law, for the Province of Alberta," otherwise known as King's Counsel, by the Lieutenant Governor in Council.

On January 28, 2016 the appointments were announced, with McLennan Ross LLP partners Damon Bailey and Chris Lane among those appointed.

To be eligible for a King's Counsel appointment, individuals may be nominated or may apply, and must meet the requirements of the King's Counsel Act, including professional qualities, competence, and superior contributions to the administration of justice, the legal profession and the community.

Congratulations to Damon and Chris on their appointment.
